Live Cinema?

Live Cinema is cinema that unfolds live. It´s an audiovisual perfomance where the director, creator, performer or artist presents his work in person, before the audience.
Imagine an artist being able to change his film’s ending, simulate new sounds and images, new sequences, and above all, create different narratives based on the audience’s reactions to the work. Well, that is Live Cinema.
In Live Cinema, the artists – who present their works as audiovisual compositions, remixes of acclaimed films and/or experimental works of conceptual or linguistic investigation – no longer conceive finished works. Rather, they present the opportunities to articulate elements of the work in combinations and recombinations that are never seen the same way twice, creating a unique and irreplaceable audiovisual work, experience or performance.
Finnish multimedia artist Mia Makela – aka SOLU – was with us at our Live Cinema Showcase in the 2008 Rio de Janeiro International Film Festival.
